Last night I pushed some nice updates to my photo gallery site, photos.chuqui.com.
Even as I was finishing up the first generation of the site, I knew I wanted to make some changes when I had time. This update changes it from a fixed size to a more responsive layout and updates the navigation and menus, and I simplified the look and removed some things I decided were more visual clutter than design elements. The thumbnails are larger – this is, after all, about the photos, right?
Or it should be. I think these changes bring it closer to that goal.

I’m not done — I still think there are improvements to be made, especially on the photo detail page where I want to shift to a larger image and improve how I display the EXIF, but that’ll have to wait for now.
I’m curious what you think of the changes and whether you agree that they’re improvements. And I’d love to hear about things you think can still be improved so I can see about making them happen.
(note: it’s possible some of the old site will stick in your browser cache. If you get weird results, you might need to empty the cache).
